Building Character for Success

Roane County United Way supports after school programming for students that focuses on Health & Life Skills, Education & Career Development and Character & Leadership Development. One hundred and thirty four middle and high school youth in Roane County participated in programs such as Triple Play (Mind, Body and Soul), a program that teaches health and wellness by teaching them good choices in food, physical activity and how to develop healthy relationships. Through programs like Money Matters, boys and girls participated and showed a 100% increase in financial literacy knowledge with 70% say they now save money on their own.
