Our Mission
The new mission of United Way is to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities. Our product is Community Impact. Community Impact is defined as improving lives by mobilizing communities to create lasting changes in community conditions.

United Ways bring communities together to focus on the most important needs in the community -- building partnerships, forging consensus and leveraging resources to make a measurable difference.

Every day, United Way supported programs help provide a nurturing environment for children, health care for seniors who might otherwise go without, food and shelter for those facing tough times, safe havens from physical and psychological abuse, therapy for those coping with special challenges and so much more. Every day United Way programs are doing what matters.

What the Community Thinks...
County Mayor

I am a firm believer in the United Way. I have been an active participant for my entire work career. It is wonderful to see how with many people giving just a little can truly reshape our local community. I encourage everyone to give through the United Way and if you initially chose not to, go visit one the member agencies and see how much good is being accomplished and imagine this community getting along without that organization. It could happen if we don’t team up and give the United Way.

In my many years of being a part of the workforce, I have always felt a strong responsibility to the United Way and have always supported the United Way as much as I am able to. Roane County Schools

The Roane County United Way works for the people of Roane County. They have direct impact on the lives of the children through their support of school programs, special requests, and the financial support of the Pre-K program. Children are the future and United Way impacts the future through their support of schools and children.

The United Way is easy to work with and always open to helping those in need.
